Wood stove installation
Wood stove installation.
A wood stove heats the house on a cold night and cuts the heating bill.
We check the stove you're looking at against the room and the chimney, check the clearances and the floor, line the chimney for it, and test it before we leave.
We work weekdays, 9 to 5. Pick any time on the form and Kari will call you to set the exact one.

The install
How an install goes
Five steps, start to finish.
- We talk it through. What you want to heat, the room, the stove you're looking at.
- We look at the space. Venting, clearance from anything that can burn, and whether the floor can carry it.
- We install it. To the manufacturer's instructions and the local building code.
- We test it. A burn and a safety check before we leave.
- We keep it running. An inspection every year, and repairs when it needs them.
The chimney matters as much as the stove
Most stove problems are venting problems. A stove on an old, oversized or cracked flue won't draft, fills the room with smoke, and builds creosote fast. That's why a stove install here usually comes with a stainless steel liner sized to the stove. Every liner we install carries a lifetime warranty on the liner and the installation, and it transfers to whoever owns the house next.
Wood only
We install and service wood-burning stoves and inserts, and the chimneys that go with them.

What people wrote after we left.
“We thought initially we just needed to fix the flashing, but when Jason dug into the problem, we found the chimney extension that was done 25 years ago had an improperly installed vapor barrier... It is so nice to not worry about drip-drip-drip every rain storm.”
“We bought an old house and the chimney was in need of urgent repair... we not only got something functional but also beautifully designed and crafted. We knew exactly what it'd cost and what we were paying for.”
“I got a call back right away the next business day and was scheduled. Jason called and let us know when he would be on his way to our house. He inspected it, showed us pictures of our chimney, and explained the process.”
“The team who worked on our new chimney liner and damper left things super clean and we love that we can have a fire in our fireplace for the first time in a lonnnnnnnnnng time.”
“Returned call same day and scheduled inspection... I was given estimate the next day. They demoed old chimney, installed new liners, and built an awesome new chimney. Wow! Totally satisfied!”

Wood stove questions
Can you install a wood stove if I don't have a chimney?
Often, yes. It needs its own venting system to carry the smoke out safely, and we'll tell you what that takes when we see the house.
Can I put a stove into my existing fireplace chimney?
Usually, with a stainless steel liner sized for the stove. That's what makes the stove draft right and keeps the heat in the flue.
What should I burn in it?
Dry, seasoned hardwood like oak, maple or hickory. It burns hotter and leaves less creosote than pine or spruce.
What does a wood stove install cost?
It depends on the stove, the room and the venting, so we price it after we've seen the space, in writing. Call Kari at 320.414.0191 to set up the inspection, or book online.
Do you service stoves after they're in?
Yes. The stove and its chimney get inspected every year like any other flue, and we fix what the inspection finds.
